冬残奥会辛普森携领滑员罗布夺银 为英国队赢下首枚奖牌 Simpson and Guide Rob Win Silver to Secure ParalympicsGB’s First Medal

中华时报/中华新闻通讯社(赵雪湄)米兰科尔蒂纳,2026年3月10日,在冬季残奥会高山滑雪赛场,23岁的英国运动员尼尔·辛普森与向导罗布·波斯联手,为英国队赢得本届残奥会的首枚奖牌——男子视觉障碍全能赛银牌。

辛普森上午超级大回转赛段位列第四,但他在回转赛段发挥神勇,以全场最佳成绩完成比赛,总成绩1:57.07,跃上领奖台,完成个人残奥奖牌全套。辛普森表示:“男子视觉障碍组竞争激烈,能站上领奖台让我非常开心。第二轮完全按照计划执行,效果很好。”

向导罗布·波斯补充:“这次比赛让我们信心大增,也为接下来的回转赛打下基础。我们正一步步接近领奖台顶端,希望保持这个势头。”

同场比赛中,弗雷德·沃伯顿与向导詹姆斯·汉南遗憾未完成比赛,女子全能赛中梅娜·菲茨帕特里克与向导凯蒂·奎斯特以2:20.88获得第九名。菲茨帕特里克表示:“每一场比赛都能积累经验和信心,让我们更镇定地迎接下一轮挑战。”

辛普森与沃伯顿将在3月13日参加男子大回转 VI 比赛,菲茨帕特里克将于3月14日回归女子回转 VI 赛段。

Milano Cortina, 10 March 2026 — At the Winter Paralympics alpine skiing events, 23-year-old British athlete Neil Simpson and his guide Rob Poth claimed Great Britain’s first medal of the Games, winning silver in the men’s visually impaired alpine combined.

Simpson was fourth after the morning Super-G run, but delivered the fastest time in the slalom run to finish with a total of 1:57.07, completing his full set of Paralympic medals. Simpson said, “The men’s visually impaired field is extremely competitive, so it’s amazing to stand on the podium. The second run went exactly according to plan and worked out perfectly.”

Guide Rob Poth added, “This race has boosted our confidence and set us up well for the upcoming slalom. We are steadily moving closer to the top step of the podium and hope to keep this momentum going.”

In the same session, Fred Warburton and his guide James Hannan did not finish, while in the women’s combined, Menna Fitzpatrick and guide Katie Guest finished ninth with a time of 2:20.88. Fitzpatrick said, “Every race builds experience and confidence, helping us stay calm and ready for the next challenge.”

Simpson and Warburton will compete in the men’s giant slalom VI on 13 March, while Fitzpatrick returns to action in the women’s slalom VI on 14 March.

ParalympicsGB represents England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland at the Summer and Winter Paralympic Games. The outstanding performances of its athletes not only inspire the public but also help shift societal perceptions of disability and encourage greater achievement for all.
